Abstract
588,955. Agricultural implements. KNIGHT, G. H. F., and MECHANISED HORTICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS, Ltd. March 12, 1945. No. 6117. [Class 6 (i)] [Also in Group XXXI] The steering handles of a small tractor or the like are mounted for lateral swinging movement on a carrier which is itself adjustable about a horizontal axis to suit the height of the operator. In the Figure, two angle brackets 3 are attached to the implement and between the cheeks 2 of said brackets is a bobbin 1, which, after vertical adjustment of the handles, is frictionally clamped by a nut and bolt 4, 5. Two plates 7, 8 are rigidly mounted on the bobbin and house between them a tubular member 9 carrying the handles 10, 11 which are free to rotate about the bolt 12. A lever 13 attached to one of the handles 10 is connected by a link 15 to a spring loaded detent 16 which engages with one of a number of notches 19 in a plate 18 attached to the plate 8 thus enabling the handles to swing to right or left and to be locked.
