Abstract
A catalyst for removing oxygen and carbon dioxide from industrial gases consists of an alkaline earth metal salt, preferably barium carbonate, and iron-free asbestos. The ingredients are mixed with water and a binder such as gum, dried, and ignited at about 900 DEG C. The catalyst is periodically regenerated by heating in air to 900-1100 DEG C.
