Abstract
Catalysts, contaminated with combustible deposits, are regenerated by filling the catalyst chamber with steam, containing no free oxygen, at elevated pressure, e.g. 300-500 lbs. per sq. in., and at the combustion temperature. The steam is then circulated through the catalyst and air or oxygen is added to maintain the desired oxygen content for combustion while sufficient spent gas is bled off to keep the desired regeneration pressure. The regeneration pressure may be built up completely with the steam or may be attained when the oxygen or air is added. Specifications 708,554 and 719,627 are referred to.
