[Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXII] In a swivelling mounting for a mirror 1 or the like comprising a ball head 6 mounted on a supporting bracket, an annular part-spherical socket 5 formed in a depressed portion 4 of the mirror backing plate 2, and a blade or plate spring 8 mounted in this depressed portion 4 and secured thereto by rivets 10. the said spring 8 urges an annular collar or cap 9 against the ball head 6 so as to hold the ball head in engagement with the socket 5 and to frictionally retain the mirror 1 in any desired angular position. In a modification, only one end of the spring 8 is rigidly secured and the other end is slidably anchored in a loop situated on the depressed portion 4.
