588,174. Manually-actuated valves. JACEK, P. Feb. 2, 1945, No. 2635. [Class 135] A regulating valve particularly for central heating installations, comprises a steam or hotwater supply pipe 1, Fig. 2, having a branch 2, closed by a plug 3, through which passes a bush 4, supporting the spindle 12 of a screw-down valve 13 and formed-with lugs 7, Fig. 6, on its base 6, which engage correspondingly-shaped slots in the outer end of a rotatable split sleeve 5, having an oblique inner end. The flow through the pipe 1 is controlled by the valve 13 and by the sleeve 5, the sleeve being rotated to the required position by a member 24, Fig. 4, , encircling the bush and having hand-grips 27 and a lug 26 engaging a slot 23 in the bush. The position of the sleeve is indicated by a pointer 28 on the member 24, and a scale on the branch.
