Abstract

264,076. Lemetais, J. A. July 26, 1926. Mixing-valves.-A manually-actuated valve for controlling the delivery of hot and cold water, of the type in which the hot and cold water issue from concentric passages under the control of a single valve member has the proportion of hot to cold water controlled by a ported sleeve l slidably mounted on the inner conduit and held in contact with the valve member by a spring n. The inner conduit e which supplies hot water is formed as a separate piece and is screwed and soldered into the screwed tail c of the cock casing a. Cold water is supplied through a coupling i screwed onto the tail and provided with an annular channel j communicating with a port k so that connection is made in all positions of the coupling. The ported sleeve comprises two cylindrical portions joined bv a conical part and is fitted with a plastic washer p of a diameter slightly greater than the seat aperture q. Packing rings are provided on that part of the central conduit over which the sleeve slides.
