[Class 74 (ii)] In a circular machine of the twc feed type the stitch cam for the auxiliary box is withdrawn at the correct time to allow mock-fashioning needles to remain at a low enough level not to clear the stitches from the latches Separate spring-returned lifting bars 21, 22, connected for withdrawing the two stitch-cams have, pin-and-slot connections 18, 19, with a lift rod 17 movable about an axis parallel to its own axis, by a high link 26 on the pattern chain 25, to put the bars in an operative position. A reciprocating thrust rod 16 coacts with the lift rod to actuate the lifting bars, which withdraw and return the stitch cams whilst the high link is engaged with the actuating rod.
