453,276. Knitting-machines. HOSIERY DEVELOPMENTS, Ltd., 30, Park Row, Nottingham, JONES, T. H., The Aspens, Breck Hill Road, Woodthorpe, Nottinghamshire, and MILLS, R. K., 3, Edwards Lane, Sherwood, Nottingham. March 8, 1935, No. 7236. [Class 74 (ii)] Circular machines ; sinkers ; cams.-Individually - adjustable sinker controlling or operating cams are provided at the loopdrawing and the knocking over positions. As shown, the cams 11, 17 are arranged at the feed for the locking thread c of a circular machine and in a multiple feed machine permit of the locking loops being pushed the same distance down the legs of the main loops a, b at the several feeds. The cams 11, 17 can be moved longitudinally in guides 25 in blocks 26 by means of bell-crank levers 37 pivoted at 38, one arm being connected by a pin 40 to the cam and the other arm slotted to receive an eccentric 34 on the spindle of a graduated knob 32. The block 26 is adjusted radially by means of a screw 29 and graduated knob 30. The sinkers 15 are returned by cams 20, 20 attached to the blocks 26. In making the fabric shown in Fig. 10 a main loop a is cleared below the upper latch 1 of a needle, a main thread b is drawn across the forward edge 15b of the sinker, the loop a is knocked over, the sinker withdrawn to allow the new loop b to pass below the nose 15c, the new loop is cleared below the bottom latch 2, and locking thread fed across the sinker edge 15b and between the two needle latches 1, 2. The loop c is drawn through the loop b, then the loop b through the loop c which is knocked over.
