Abstract

585,698. Valve relay circuits. LONDEX, Ltd., and BESSON, A. P. June 28, 1944, No. 12270. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] In a circuit in which a relay 1 is controlled by a discharge in a cold cathode tube 6, initiated by the darkening of a photo-electric cell 8, and consequent rise in potential of a striking electrode 7, the voltage supplying the cell and striking anode is stabilized, e.g. by a shunt connected neon tube 12. Preferably the operation of the relay increases the potential of the striking anode to prevent hunting. The system shown is supplied by A.C. mains. The sensitivity of the device is increased by the provision of rectifier 15 and condensers 16, 17.
