In order to prevent access of electrolyte to the conductors where not required the ends of the rod f are enclosed by insulating sleeves g secured at one end to the arms a and at the other to the rod by a nut o engaging a thread on the rod. A locknut p may be provided. Each arm a is provided with an insulating boss formed with a spigot n engaging a socket m in a boss provided on the end-plate b<2>. In a long barrel one or more partitions i may be provided. The barrel is driven by a belt h. The barrel is polygonal, one panel being removable for insertion of the work.
