Abstract

584,648. Tubular lamp fittings. CROSSLAND, A. G. Jan. 16, 1945, No. 1305 [Class 75 (iv)] An electric light fitting for a tubular lamp a comprises a hollow body formed by two separable complementary sheet-metal parts d, e, the upper part d being of inverted channel section and attached to a ceiling fixture or supporting rods, tubes, chains &c. and the lower part e supporting the lamp a by brackets and insulating pieces. The lower part has inclined sides and is formed at the top with flanges l extending into the upper part to flank a space for electric cables. The upper part carries insulating members f formed with slots h for the passage of the lamp pins b into engagement with contacts g. The upper part also carries a choke i, condenser j and other accessories. The underside of the lower part has a gap approximately the same length as the lamp, the ends of the gap being bounded by flanges k formed with gaps p to enable the lamp to be placed in position. The lower part may be hinged to the upper part at q and secured by catches r at the opposite end.
