Abstract

634,014. Fastenings. CLARK, C. W. March 3, 1948, No. 6694. [Class 44] [Also in Group XI] In a tubular fluorescent lamp fitting 1 comprising a box-like structure 1, 2 with a bottom formed by a transparent or translucent plate, or by a louvre 3, 4 the end walls 2 of the structure are each provided or formed with lugs 8, 8<SP>1</SP> upon which rests a rod 7 which is threaded through slots 6, 6i, 611 formed in the ends of the bottom plate or louvre members 3 so that when the rod is raised clear of the lugs 8, 81 it can be moved laterally in the slots away from the end walls 2 and the bottom plate or louvre swung open. The rod is prevented from axial movement in the slots by means of washers 9, 9<SP>1</SP> provided on each side of one of the members 3. If desired, one end only of the louvre may be provided with slots 6, the other end of the louvre having the rod fixed thereto to serve as a pivot.
