Abstract

582,959. Washing-boilers. PHILLIPS, Ltd., A., and HALL, S. C. Aug. 18, 1944, No. 15787. [Class 64 (i)] A washing-boiler. in which the water vessel 4 is enclosed in a rectangular casing 5 is provided at one side with a compartment 5c into which the combustion products are exhausted, the compartment opening at its lower end into the main casing or the atmosphere and having at its upper end one or more apertures 8a one of which may be connected with a flue. The compartment may be formed at the rear or side of the boiler by a partition 7 with an aperture or apertures 7a for' the passage of combustion products. The top frame 6 of the boiler casing is formed above the compartment 5c with a slot which is closed by a detachable cover plate 8 with a flanged central opening and a flanged opening at one or each end. A cover plate 9 with flanges 9a of L-section on three sides is slidable over the topframe 6, which is also provided with holes to receive depending pins or studs in the base of a wringer.
