Abstract

582,767. Valve generating circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Feb. 18, 1944, No. 3108. Convention date, Feb. 20, 1943. [Class 40 (v)] In an oscillation generator comprising two valves, having anode, cathode, control grid and screen grid, in push-pull, tuned circuits connect the two anodes and two grids, respectively, the two being inductively coupled, a piezo-electric crystal having a narrow pass band being connected between two series connected impedances in the grid circuit so that oscillations occur only at crystal frequency. As shown in Fig. 1, the crystal 11 is connected between two tuning condensers 8 and 9, arranged for gang control, the resistance 14 being shunted across the crystal to prevent unwanted oscillation. In a modification, Fig. 2, not shown, the crystal is placed between two coupling coils, inductively coupled to the grid tank inductance coil 5, the oscillations damping resistance being shunted across the three elements.
