Abstract
582,378. Hand sprayers. HILL, S. D. Sept. 28, 1944, No. 18539. [Class 69 (iii)] In spraying liquid from a container 2 by a hand-operated pump 4, the pump delivers air through a non-return valve 17, a tubular socket 3 and an air duct 13 to a pressure chamber 9, the body 1 being formed with a small tubular extension 5 projecting coaxially into the aperture 12 of a screw-on cap 10. Pressure air from the chamber 9 issues through the annular orifice, thereby inducing flow of liquid from the container 2 through pipe 8, duct 6 and extension tube 5. Inter-engaging conical &c. surfaces 21, 22 ensure the cap aperture 12 being concentric with the tube extension 5. The body 1 of the spraying head is secured by screwing it on to a threaded spigot 14 fixed on the bottom cover 15 of the pump 4.
