Abstract
582,352. Mounting agricultural implements. BEAN, A. W. May 30, 1944, Nos. 10406 and 17703. [Class 6 (i)] [Also in Group XXXI] An agricultural tractor having a rear engine 11 mounted over the driving wheels 14, a single front steering wheel 22 and an open rectangular chassis 2 is provided with a number of tubular sockets 26 into which various agricultural implements may be plugged, and swivel brackets or clamps 32 adjacent the open portion of the chassis for fixing a platform or spraying ,apparatus. Implements which may be plugged into the front sockets 26 include a seed distributor as described in Specification 567,109 and which may be chain-driven from one of the driving wheels 14, or grass-cutting shears which may be driven by a flexible shaft from the engine at 34. Implements which may be plugged into side sockets 26 include a projecting arm 30, steadied by chain 31 for marking a line parallel to the direction of travel to act as a guide on the next run of the tractor. Implements which may be plugged into the rear sockets 26 include an implement 27, 28 for eradicating the wheel marks, or a cultivator which can be raised and lowered.
