[Class 83 (iii)] [Also in Group XXIII] A universally adjustable work-holder is described with reference to holding tools during grinding and comprises a spherical body mounted in a hemispherical cup; and radially adjustable clamping means to hold the sphere in any desired position..The sphere d, formed of hemispheres bolted together and having diametral square holes e, f to take different sized tools, fits into a hemispherical cup c. A scale h on the sphere co-operates with a mark on the edge of the cup, and a scale on the cup co-operates with a line on the sphere. The sphere is clamped by means of shaped sliders l<1> running in slots k and pressed by a stem m<1> of a T-piece, as controlled by nuts n<2>.
