Abstract

581,422. Mirror supports. MODERN INDUSTRIES (LONDON), Ltd., and VINEY, H. S. April 19, 1944, No. 7256. [Classes 52 (i), 52 (iii) and 52 (v)] An adjustable mirror support comprises a primary linkage turnable about a vertical axis and arranged to allow the mirror to be swung outwards away from and inwards towards the base member and a secondary linkage including upper and lower members which are adjustable to tilt the mirror with respect to the vertical plane. As shown in Fig. 2 the cabinet 10 is provided with lugs 11 carrying rod 12 on which is pivotally mounted the primary linkage comprising plates 14, 22 which permits the mirror 25 to be swung away from the cabinet in a horizontal direction the mirror maintaining a position parallel to the front of the cabinet or functioning as a conventional hinged door. The secondary linkage as shown in Fig. 4 comprises U-shaped members 17, 21 of which member 17 is pivoted to plate 14 at 15 and member 21 is adjustable in the gapped bottom edge of plate 14 so that the mirror can be tilted in a vertical direction. In a modification shown in Fig. 9 the secondary linkage comprises a short U- shaped link 31 pivotally attached to the plate 14 by a stud 15 and a longer link 26, the sleeve 27 sliding on the rod 18, for adjustment with regard to the vertical plane.
