[Class 131. ] Hair frames, formers, and the like over which the hair may be trained are formed, at least in part, of sheet material and means may be provided for securing the hair so trained and additional means for securing the frames &c. to the head or hair. Figs. 1 and 2 show pads of hollow form, the edge 18 being adapted to lie close to the head and the edge raised therefrom to permit the hair to be tucked into the interior of the hollow pads, means such as slits, &c. 20 and elastic bands 21 may be provided to assist in securing the hair so trained over the pads. The pads have extensions 11, 13 for securing it to the head, preferably of the same material which may be transparent or synthetic plastic, the extensions 11 being connected together by a joint 12 and the rear extensions being connected by another former 15 which may be of spiral or other form over which hair may be trained and secured by means of elastic threads 16 threaded through holes 17. Fig. 5 shows formers 36 of different shapes for different sides of the head and connected to a band 35. Both edges of the formers stand clear of the head so that hair can be tucked in at either side and the upper edges may be wavy to form the hair into waves and also to assist in gripping it. Fig. 13 shows a former 60 having a comb 61 for securing it to the hair and also provided with apertures 64 through which another comb may be passed, the second comb also having a former.
