579,667. Ordnance mountings. RICE, E. A. B., ROSE, A. G., CURTIS, S., NICHOLLS, K. H., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Nov. 4, 1943, No. 18301. [Class 92 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIV] A ball bearing, for a gun turret as described in Specification 577,904, consists of three races 13, 16, 19 and two cages 24 each carrying three equidistant balls 23, race 13 or 19 having an axial screw adjustment. Several sets of bearings may be combined, the intermediate races being slidably mounted so that all the sets are adjusted by one race. As shown, race 16 has grooves 17, 18, the former corresponding to race 13 fixed to the member 12 to which race 19 is screwed, whilst race 16 is carried by member 11. Race 19 after adjustment is locked by a screw 25.
