[Class 20 (iv)] A spacer for positioning reinforcing rods in concrete comprises a stout wire or thin metal rod formed with a U- or V- shaped seating a for the rod b, each limb of the U being bent to form spacing arms c c' and then bent obliquely in opposite directions forming arms d d<1> terminating in hooked ends e e<1> engaging over the rod b. In another form the limbs are doubly bent between the U-seating and the obliquely extended arms 6 d<1>, so that the doubly bent arms can position the rod with respect to two adjacent perpendicular faces of the mould.
