579,219. Builders' scaffolding and staging. LANCHESTER, F. June 20, 1944, No. 11713. [Class 20 (ii)] [Also in Group XXX] Two separate platforms e, f are independently movable either from the platform itself or from the ground. One platform carries a workman and the other, building materials. The platforms are carried by a base a which may form part of a vehicle provided with wheels b and feet c which are adjustable to support the base rigidly upon the ground. The platforms may be on posts d and raised or lowered by rotating handles h or m on two shafts k passing through screw-threaded holes g in the platforms, the shafts being geared together by bevel wheels i and horizontal shafts. Alternatively the platforms may be raised or lowered by hydraulic rams or by three lazy tongs which are expanded or contracted simultaneously.
