Abstract

578,778. Gravity motors. GAUNT, B. A. Sept. 16, 1943, No. 15204. [Class 110 (ii)] A rotor or wheel is mounted on a fixed axle 2 forming inlet and outlet chambers 4, 5, for fluid under pressure which alternately forces out one piston or weight 8 whilst another piston 9 is withdrawn, to overbalance, and thus cause rotation of the rotor. An inlet port 10 and an exhaust port 11 in the rotor alternately co-act with similar ports in the chambers 4, 5 to cause one piston to be forced outwards and the other piston to be forced inwards. The working medium may be obtained from a natural source or from a pump. More than one pair of cylinders may be used.
