Abstract

Vitamins other than aneurin, e.g., nicotinic acid or its amide or riboflavin or compounds of metals with such substances are dissolved or dispersed in water, the solution or dispersion is mixed with an absorbate of edible farinaceous or cereal product, e.g., flour or starch, or other carbohydrate campatible with flour, or other powder which in the amount present in the final flour is noninjurious to health or to the baking properties of the flour, the suspension so formed is spray dried, the resulting powdery or granular concentrate is incorporated into a bulk of flour and the mixture is dressed. When more than one adjuvant is employed, one adjuvant may be incorporated into one absorbate and the other adjuvant or adjuvants into another absorbate or absorbates. Apparatus for preparing (a) a concentrate and (b) a concentrate having an overcoating of flour are similar to those described in Specifications 578,624 and 578,625. Specifications 503,476, 506,730, 511,722, 517,348 and 522,418 also are referred to.
