Abstract

577,030. Fuse boxes. HENLEY'S TELEGRAPH WORKS CO., Ltd., W. T., and STONE, J. F. Oct. 31, 1944, No. 21249. [Class 38 (i)] Branch circuits are taken through fuses in a distribution box by means of clamps on the incoming cables, the clamps being provided with interchangeable and reversible fittings which enable various connections to be made between the cables and fuses. Fig. 1 shows a part of a distribution box in which bared portions of an incoming cable 16 are clamped against a conducting plate 21 by plates 22 between which is a fitting 26 shown in Fig. 3 which is clamped in electrical contact with plate 21. Each cable is provided with a similar fitting which is formed with an offset part 30 carrying means for the attachment of two short lengths of cable 33 leading to adjacent fuse boxes 36. Fig. 6 shows two cables, R, W, with fittings 26 which can be reversed or clamped round other cables to make contact with any of the plates 21. The fuses may be joined in parallel by busbars 54. The neutral cable N passes through the distribution box and is connected to a busbar at the upper end of the box from which connections can be taken to the various circuits.
