[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group VI] The underside of bakery goods w passed along endless conveyers 21, 20, 19, receive a coating of icing from a rotary drum 17 'dipping into a pool of icing, the conveyer chains 19 being flush in deep circumferential grooves in the drum 17, but run in shallow grooves of a roller 18 at the other end so that they project beyond the surface, the goods then dropping from the end and falling, icing side up, on to conveyer belts 47, from which they pass along conveyer 50 to wrapping position. The slope of the conveyer 47 is adjustable to suit the required inverting drop of varying lengths of baked goods. The links of the chain 19 are of knife edge thickness so that they will cut into any icing congealed in the deep grooves of the drum 17. The icing feed rotor 33 and the conveyer chains can be lifted out of the icing pan for cleaning by lifting up the assembly to pivot about the roller 18. The chains are drawn through the slits of a leather apron 42 to clean them of icing. A comb 45 clears the grooves of the roller 18.
