Abstract

686,452. Endless conveyers. HOLZER, D. M. DE, (Representative of HOLZER, R. C. DE). June 14, 1950. [June 14, 1949] No. 15863/49. Class 78 (i). [Also in Group XL (b)] A conveyer for feeding a number of articles, e.g. biscuits, to a photo-electric examining position, comprises three strings 2 passing over a driving roller 3 and a spring loaded roller 4. Objects are kept centrally disposed on the conveyer by a pair of belts 6 driven by rollers 31 and which pass over spring loaded rollers 8. Idling rollers 7 situated beside the conveyer cause the belts to run parallel to the conveyer with the face of each belt facing the edge of the conveyer so that the biscuits are gripped between them. Objects on the conveyer may be rotated by running the belts at different speeds. A brush 12 above the conveyer driven periodically from the main conveyer drive through gear-wheels with some of the teeth cut away releases articles at definite intervals so as to ensure a minimum spacing along the conveyer.
