Abstract
893,202. Baking crumpets. NOEL, E. M. July 27, 1959, No. 25671/59. Class 28 (1). In an automatic crumpet-baking machine, batter is deposited from a measuring device 110 into ring moulds 43 on endless conveyer chains 26, the moulds resting, while being carried through the machine, on heated plates 60 on a synchronously-driven conveyer. The ring moulds are supported by pairs of metal straps 44 attached at each end to a bearing 45 slidable on a rod 46 and carrying a roller 72 which is arranged to be lifted by a cam surface 73, after the moulds have passed the cooking position, into the path of members 83 on another synchronously-driven endless conveyer 80 whereby the crumpets are pushed out of the moulds and remain resting on the plates 60 until removed by scrapers 140 when the plates commence their return journey during which they are cleaned by scrapers and rotary brushes. After the release of the crumpets, the moulds return to the starting-position past a grease-applying spray.
