Abstract

576,090. Fastenings. BUNN, H. R. June 3, 1942, No. 7539. [Class 44] [Also in Group XXXIII] A quick release device 31 for a parachute pack as described in Specification 339,388, [Class 44], is provided with a domed pressure plate 31 which releases straps 29, 30, upon striking the ground. A forked plate 33 normally prevents accidental release of the straps and is held in position against the pull of an elastic cable 37 by a loop 34 engaging a conical stud on the strap 30 where it is retained by a pin 35, which latter is withdrawn by a cord 36 just before the pack is opened.
