Abstract

700,640. Helmet face shields. MINE SAFETY APPLIANCES CO. Aug. 7, 1951 [Aug. 30, 1950], No. 18565/51. Class 63 [Also in Group XXV] A welders face shield is pivotally and releasably attached to a helmet. Brackets 13 are pivoted on pins 11 passing through the sides of a shield 7 and are held frictionally between washers 12, 14 by a spring 16. Hollow studs 18 are attached to the brackets and pass through holes in blocks 3 mounted on the crown 2 of a helmet 1. In use when the studs 18 are inserted in the blocks 3 spring catches hold them in position until released by pressure on the free ends of the studs.
