Abstract

575,928. Harvesting peas &c. LEVERTON & CO., Ltd., H. and SUMNER, E. Aug. 26, 1943, No. 13932. [Class 6 (iii)] In machines for cutting peas and like row crops, separators 14 precede the cutters 151, a plurality of each spaced apart transversely of the direction of travel being employed. The cutting devices each consist of two blades in V-formation, the path of each overlapping those of adjacent cutters. Both cutters and separators are arranged in staggered relation. The separators are semi-conical, and formed from sheet metal. They are supported in front of, and the cutters behind the propelling vehicle which has a power take-off shaft for actuating the lifting gear for the two seta of devices.
