Abstract
575,888. Switch contacts. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. April 24, 1944, No. 7542. Convention date, April 24, 1943. [Class 38 (v)] [Also in Group XXII] In producing a contact having a silver contact surface 11<1> on a copper contact finger 11, a recess 15 is punched in the finger which is .then silver-plated. A flanged silver button 16, with flange 17 downwards, is placed in the recess and is fixed therein by a cold punch 18 which clinches the edges of the recess 15 over, and bonds the silver button to the plated surface of the recess. If an arcing contact is required, the button may be formed of a material known under the Registered Trade Mark "Elkonite." In this case, the button surface extends above the surrounding copper finger. Specifications 476,375, 492,088, [both in Group XXII], and 541,612 are referred to.
