575,385. Supporting pipes. GENERAL SPRING CORPORATION. March 17, 1944, No. 5039. Convention date, March 27, 1943. [Class 99 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A means for supporting pipes with small conduction of heat comprises bolts 17 extending through supporting lugs 14 but having only line contact with holes therein. As shown the bolts have square section. Arms 15 of clamps carrying the' pipe are kept out of contact with the lugs 14 by pointed pins 18, or by washers having star or corrugated section. The bolts 17 and the pins 18, or the washers, are made of stainless steel and the surfaces of the holes through which they pass are case hardened. A vertical pipe 'is supported by bolts on either side, lugs on the pipe resting on a surounding clamp. The lugs 14 may be attached to the hangers described in Specification 565,189.
