[Class 7 (i)] [Also in Group XXXIII] In means for aircraft propulsion comprising high-pressure jets or other propulsion devices and pipes supplying gases under pressure thereto, an internal combustion engine supplies combustion products to a storage vessel and water is sprayed into the products to produce steam which mixes therewith. The engine may be of the free-piston type and the water, which may be drawn from the cooling jacket of the engine, be sprayed into either the combustion chamber, the piping leading to the storage vessel, or the vessel itself. Preferably, the speed of the engine, the supply of fuel thereto and the water supply are regulated so as to maintain the temperature and pressure in the storage vessel constant. The jets are arranged in the leading edge of the aircraft wings which may be divided into compartments each containing one jet.
