Abstract

574,213. Injection-moulding machines. ARON, E., POLLARD, E., and COOK, F. F. Jan. 18, 1944, No. 973: [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] The pump cylinder 13 of an injection moulding machine is arranged horizontally near the bottom of the pot 10 with the plunger 18 extending from one side of the pot and the delivery jet 25 from the other. Leakage from the operating cylinder 20 cannot, therefore, fall into the molten material and this need not be replaced until the pot is almost empty provided the inlet 17 is formed in the lower side of the cylinder 13. Rods 22 connect the cylinder 20 to the furnace casing 11. The - cylinder 13 and pot 10 may be connected as shown or cast in one piece.
