Abstract

574,202. Cutting and slicing machines. GUY, H. W. Jan. 14, 1944, No. 783. [Class 5(i)] [Also in Group VI] A device for cutting haggis longitudinally comprises a rotary feeding disc associated with a spring-loaded feeding arm along which the haggis travels and between which and the feeding disc cutting means are disposed and the haggis passes for the cutting operation. As shown, the haggis is fed in a downward direction between the feeding disc A which has a pair of bevelled rims F toothed at G and the feeding nose N of circular cross-section carried on the feeding arm K and having a cutting blade H which under pressure from the spring M extends into the annular slot J between the rims F of the feeding disc A. The feeding disc A and feeding arm K are pivoted at B and L respectively to the supporting member C which is clamped by its bifurcated portion D and screws E to the rim of a tub &c. The feeding disc A may be operated manually by the handle Q or by means of an electric motor. In a modification, the cutting blade may be associated with the disc A and run in a slot in the nose N.
