Abstract

A thermoplastic composition comprises one or more vinyl halide polymers, one or more plasticizers and chlorinated paraffin wax containing 35-55 per cent chlorine, the proportion of chlorinated wax being 1-65 per cent of the combined weights of the chlorinated wax and plasticizers and the polymer comprising 40-70 per cent by weight of the composition. The polymer may be polyvinyl chloride, bromide or iodide or an interpolymer thereof with vinyl acetate, methyl acrylate or methacrylate or a -chloracrylate, styrene or vinylidene chloride. Suitable plasticizers are dibutyl phthalate and tricresyl phosphate. Pigments, fillers and stabilizers may be incorporated in the composition.
