[Class 39 (iii) ] An electrically-heated cooking appliance has one or more hot-plates 21, provided with L-shaped spigots 22 which are inserted into the sockets 24 formed on the walls 10, 11, 12 of an open-topped box-like base, thus detachably supporting the hot plates. The hot plates 21 and the walls 10, 11, 12 are provided with the two parts 23 and 25 respectively of the multi-pin electrical connectors from which connections are made to the corresponding switches 26. A top plate 16 resting on the walls of the box-like base is provided with apertures to accommodate the hot-plates 21 under which is slid a drip pan 19.
