Abstract
The cell or container of a storage battery is of a composite structure, the inner part of the walls being of thermoplastic acid-resisting material and the outer part of relatively strong thermosetting material. In the form described, the outer part is first moulded, for example of a synthetic resin, with fibrous reinforcing material such as asbestos, textile fibres, fabric or paper, but is preferably not wholly cured or brought to its final state. The inner part of the walls is then moulded in the outer part, and may consist of one of the usual thermoplastic mixtures with a bitumen base, during or subsequently to which operation the curing of the outer part is completed.
