Abstract

A bitumenised roofing material comprises outer layers of dressed bitumen and an inner portion comprising glass-fibre tissue reinforced with a woven glass-fibre fabric. The inner portion may comprise separate layers of tissue and fabric impregnated and bonded together with bitumen, altertively the tissue and fabric may be made integral by depositing the tissue fibres on to the fabric whilst making the tissue. Suitable dressing materials are talc or sand.
