Abstract
572,820. Eyepieces. KODAK, Ltd. May 9, 1944, No. 8835. Convention date, May 1, 1943. [Class 97 (i)] An ocular having a large central air-space to permit oblique reflectors being placed therein comprises two spaced compound components, the optical data of which are specified. As shown, a double reflecting prism 20 is positioned between a front component comprised by the elements I and II and a rear component comprised by the elements III and IV which are placed with their optical axis at an angle of 45 degrees to one another. The rays from the front component are reflected at the faces 22 and 21 in such a manner that the ray emerging from the face 23 enters the rear component, the faces 21 and 23 being orthogonal respectively to the axes of the front and rear components. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), a semi-transparent mirror is' placed in the air-space. One image is reflected to a camera, and the other viewed through the rear component. The camera objective is formed by one component of the ocular and by a second component between the mirror and the camera.
