572,783. Combined wireless and loudspeaker apparatus. INTERNATIONAL MARINE RADIO CO., Ltd., and WITHEY, C. G. G. Feb. 21, 1944, No. 3169. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] In a combined radio transmitter and loudspeaker installation for use on ships, a twoway switch S1 connects an audio-frequency amplifier V3, V4 alternatively to the modulation stage of the radio transmitter and to the loudspeaker LS, and an additional microphone, which may be located on the bridge of the ship and which includes a pressel switch, is connected to wires M3 in parallel with the normal instrument. As shown in Fig. 1, plate circuit modulation is employed and the removal of the audio-frequency input disconnects the high-tension supply. When grid circuit modulation is employed, Fig. 2 (not shown), a second audio-frequency amplifier is provided for feeding the loudspeaker.
