[Class 20 (iv)] [Also in Group V] A blockwork beam suitable for floors and roofs and formed of blocks 10 grooved at the sides to receive rods 16 and then filled in with mortar comprises blooks having the side grooves 12 running inwards in a downward direction and having the upper face of the inner end undercut at 15, the major part of the section of the groove lying below the top surface of the flange 11. A die 19 with a renewable groove-forming part 20 for the extrusion of the blocks is shown in Fig. 3.
