Abstract

569,278. Filing papers. SHACKMAN, J. D. Nov. 4, 1943, No. 18339. [Class 146 (i)] A paper file of the kind comprising a series of pockets, Fig. 4, suspended from rails F by means of horizontal bars G secured to their upper edges, is provided with independent elements K which also engage and ride on the supporting rails F and can be used to secure all the pockets into a complete assembly in concertina fashion. The elements K take the form of a U-shaped clip with one upper edge k<3> stepped above the other edge k4 and flared outwardly to facilitate insertion of the bars G. Slots k<1>, Fig. 3, are provided in the side-walls of the clip for mounting the clip on the rails F and are so disposed that the clip has to be inclined when being placed in position, but when released adjusts itself gravitationally into a vertical position with an extension k<2> engaging the underside of the rail. The device may be used with files in which the front edge of each pocket is attached to a flat bar G and the rear edge to an inverted U-shaped bar.
