Abstract

891,489. Filing papers. SCHMID, H. April 9, 1958, No. 11298/58. Class 146(1) A hanging document folder is provided with a mounting 2 centrally of two of its abutting edges, the mounting having an open recess 3 to receive a rail 4 from which the folder is suspended. The folder may be engaged in an inclined position (Fig. 2) by the provision of a step 2b on the inclined edge 2a opposite a supporting nose 5 which edge engages the vertical flange 4b of the rail; the unbalanced weight of the folder produces a turning moment which maintains this engagement. In the horizontal position of the folder, Fig. 1, the flange 4b engages a notch 2c, while the horizontal flange 4a engages under the nose 5. In a modification (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the rail has a vertical flange above a horizontal flange the nose and opposite edge having steps to maintain the folder in inclined position. In a further modification, Figs 5 and 6 (not shown), the rail is channel sectioned, the nose having a notch on its top and underside for holding the folder in horizontal and inclined position respectively.
