Abstract

568,586. Safety razors. HEIDE, H. C. (Gillette Safety Razor Co.). Aug. 28, 1943, No. 14070. [Class 30] A thin flexible safety razor blade is provided with a reinforcing strip comprising a main portion 14, Fig. 3, and end extensions 15, 16 which are doubled back over the end edges of the blade as shown in Fig. 1 and secured, as by welding or soldering, to the main portion through one or more apertures 19 through the blade. The main portion 14 may have a spring extension 27, Fig. 8, on the side adjacent the cutting edge of the blade, and a spring extension on the opposite side to engage a guide groove formed by a flange 23 on the guard 21 of the razor.
