Abstract
567,595. Feedwater heating systems. MASCHINENFABRIK OERLIKON. March 12, 1943, No. 9432/44. Convention date, March 19, 1942. Divided out of 562,155. [Class 64 (i)] [Also in Group XXVI] In a plant comprising a steam turbine 6 and high and low pressure air or gas turbines 13<1>, 13<2>, the fluid exhausted from the turbine 131 passes through a re-heater 12<2> on its way to the turbine 13<2>. Air exhausted from the latter flows through pipes 16, 17 to the furnace grates 31, 32 and a pre-heater 10<1> for the boiler 1 respectively. Air exhausted through a pipe 18 may also be utilised. A pump 8 supplies feedwater, to pre-heaters 101, 102, leading to a boiler 1. Steam from the latter passes through a superheater 4 and a back-pressure turbine 16 to a pipe 7 for further utilization. The turbines drive useful output machines 9, 15. Air or gas is supplied by a compressor 14, and the air circuit may be closed. Exhaust air may be used for pre-heating air issuing from the compressor 14.
