Abstract

[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group II] A machine for pickling and washing articles comprises a standard interchangeable unit or section of a parallel cylinder with volute shoots at the feeding and delivery ends adapted to gradually elevate and lower the articles being treated, a spiral conveyer disposed between the volutes transferring the articles from the feeding to the delivery shoot. The cylinder 1 is associated with a pickling or washing bath 2 and is mounted on a core 3 provided with two identical ends 4, each with a volute 5, one being formed to gradually raise the articles and the other to lower them. The articles are moved by a spiral conveyer 8 from the one shoot to the other, and are fed to the machine by a spiral conveyer 11. The cylinder 1 may be provided with a perforated cover 10 and a ring track which may be fitted to a flange 9 at each end of the core and carried on anti-friction rollers, allows the rotation of the cylinder.
