Abstract

1326321 Reciprocating conveyers NIPPON KOKAN KK 19 April 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 25602/71 Heading B8A Elongate articles 20 to be treated, e.g. plated or coated, in a bath 30 are fed at 10 to a device A comprising article gripper units 120, 120a, 120b which co-operate with a carrier table 110 reciprocable in a direction transverse of the feed direction at 10. The articles 20 are transferred from a stationary table 21 to the movable table 110 by the gripper 120 after which they are moved by the grippers 120a, 120b on to two walking-beam devices 200a, 200b. From here, the articles are moved on to movable tables 110a, 110b by grippers 120c, 120d ready for transfer, by the tables and further grippers 120e-120h, to four step-by-step lowerators 300a-300d which transfer the articles into the bath 30 and on to walking-beam devices 400 which also serve to rotate the articles 20 as they are conveyed. Gripping and lifting devices 500 then transfer the articles, via lifting devices 550, out of the bath 30 and on to walking-beam devices 600. The articles are then discharged into a common hopper 700 for collection in a container 800. The various devices are driven, through gearing 904 from a motor 901.
