Abstract

567,122. Winding yarns. FRASER & SONS, Ltd., D., and FRASER, G. S. July 23, 1943, No. 12004. [Class 120 (ii)] The traverse mechanism of a yarn winding machine comprises a rotary drum B having on its periphery two non-crossing helical grooves, extending from near the centre towards opposite ends of the drum, and an auxiliary guide, over which the yarn is fed to the drum, rotating on a parallel axis C1 and leaving two guide surfaces C, 180 degrees apart, which engage the yarn alternately and cause it to slide to and fro through practically the entire length of its traverse.
